The Connex Engine∗: An in-memory device for fast string operations

چکیده

A new circuit combining a dedicated memory controller, standard random-access memory organized as a pool or buffers, and an associative memory designed for executing fast string operations is presented. The three components are designed to work together as a hierarchical in-memory device, carrying out basic string search, insertion, and deletion operations in a single clock cycle, making it ideally suited to bioinformatic and database applications.
